Now, what’s our favorite? Let’s find out. Below you can find the option of each member of our blog.

Raul: I prefer Basel because it looks like Malmo Arena which is good cause EBU has the recent experience with it. It is so close to France and Germany, so those who will go to the event will have lots of opportunities for accomodation. It is also a better option because the arena can host all the things EBU needs (press centre, deleagation bubble, the technical rooms, the transmission cars and so on).

Adi: To be honest, I don’t plan to attend the event in person, so the choice between the two cities isn’t particularly important to me. After researching the venues and cities, I lean more towards Geneva. It’s closer to Lyon, making it easier for eurofans to find affordable accommodation compared to Switzerland. The venue is larger and can comfortably accommodate all the press, artists, and delegations. Additionally, Geneva offers many great sightseeing opportunities. Ultimately, what matters most is the organizers’ ability to deliver not only a great TV show but also a pleasant experience for the artists, audience and press on-site.

Reza: Personally, I am never really cared that much about the host city as long as EBU can deliver a good show. Based on those two options, I might prefer Basel just because the two arenas that are shortlisted look better than the one in Geneva.

Antonio: Geneva. Why? All in all Geneva has a really good package when it comes to venue accessibility and interest of people; also, Palexpo can hold place for a grand arena as we saw in previous years and people are quite thrilled for that.

Robert: I prefer Basel to Geneva, because its accessibility for other two countries. Geographically speaking, Basel is located near France and Germany and that makes a short way to these nations to arrive at ESC. Basel’s EuroAirport is multifunctional, so many flights that can have their destination in the next hosting country, Switzerland. Moreover, Basel is so pitoresque, it’s a beautiful City with breathtaking soroundings and an has interesting history and culture. In conclusion, Basel could be the host City because all of the reason previouslly mentioned.

Florin: I think Geneva is going to be the host city for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest, as its strong history of diplomacy and international cooperation would perfectly align with Eurovision’s message of uniting people through music. The city also has a great public transportation system and the second busiest airport in Switzerland by passenger traffic, which would really facilitate movement to the city and within it during the contest. Geneva also has wide experience in hosting large-scale international events and is home to the EBU’s headquarters.

Laur: Choosing the host city for Eurovision 2025 between Geneva and Basel is a tough decision, as both cities offer unique advantages and are well-equipped to handle the grand scale of the event. However, my preference leans towards Geneva. Geneva stands out due to its status as a truly global city, making it an ideal location for an international event like Eurovision. The proposed venue, the Palexpo, can accommodate up to 15,000 spectators, even though this number will be reduced to make room for Eurovision’s elaborate stage setup. Geneva’s international airport, with numerous international flights, ensures easy accessibility for participants and visitors from all over the world. Furthermore, the city’s efficient transportation system will facilitate smooth movement for everyone attending the event. One of Geneva’s most compelling features is its significant financial and diplomatic presence. As Switzerland’s financial center and the headquarters of numerous international organizations, including the United Nations and the Eurovision Broadcasting Union (EBU), Geneva embodies the spirit of international cooperation and cultural exchange that Eurovision celebrates. The city has already pledged CHF30 million towards the organization of the contest, demonstrating a strong commitment to hosting a successful event. 🍀 While Basel’s cultural richness and proximity to France and Germany are notable, Geneva’s combination of global significance, excellent infrastructure, and financial readiness makes it the better choice. Hosting Eurovision in Geneva would not only highlight the city’s international character but also leverage its existing strengths to deliver an unforgettable Eurovision experience. #unitedbymuaic

Stefania: I believe that Geneva would be a better choice in terms of organizing Eurovision in 2025 because: Geneva offers a prestigious, globally connected setting that few cities can rival. The city’s international allure, with its renowned institutions like the United Nations and the Red Cross, brings a level of prestige and global significance to the event that Basel simply can’t match. This international reputation will add an extraordinary layer of glamour and importance to the Eurovision stage.

As you saw, Geneva is leading in our team 🙂

EBU will take the final decision together with Swiss Public Brodcaster, SRG, later in August. Which is you favourite city? Tell us on the comment section where you saw the post (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).

See you next time!
