About the arena

The arena is called St. Jakobshalle and is located in MΓΌnchenstein. The major problem is the roof, it needs to be reconstructed.

The capacity will be around 8k of seats, so it’s not enough according to EBU criterias. Will this be the major problem? Maybe. EBU needs at least 10k seats for fans which was already not enough for all the fans that wish to go to the contest. The arena can host the press room with around 2k journalists, so its enough spate for this.

The infrasturcture is not enough for what EBU needs, the arena is small, the accomodation is not enough, so basically Basel is not a good choice for them and for Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Will EBU choose this? Probably. Why? Cause they have the experience with MalmΓΆ Arena and they are ready to use this at their maximum potential.

You can watch a video with testimonials from Basel and region.
