The city of Vienna has expressed an interest in hosting the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.

As the Austrian broadcaster ORF reports, following Austria’s victory at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest, Vienna would be interested in applying to host again in 2026. This would be the third time that Eurovision is hosted in the Austrian capital – the first time in 1967, at the Großer Festsaal der Wiener Hofburg, and in 2015, at the Wiener Stadthalle.

Michael Ludwig, mayor of Vienna, has congratulated on JJ for his “impressive victory”, and added that it was

a great moment for our country – and a wonderful opportunity for Vienna. Vienna is ready to be Europe’s stage again this time.

Eurovision 2026

The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is set to be held in Austria following the victory of JJ with “Wasted Love”. Austria won the Eurovision Song Contest for a third time, having won the 1966 and 2014 editions of the competition. In the coming weeks, discussions will take place with potential host cities across Austria.
