After finishing second with “Cha Cha Cha” last year, Finland will choose Käärijä’s successor this Saturday, on the 10th of February. Fans all around the globe will be able to watch the final and support their favourites on YLE’s official website at 20:00 CET. The winner will be determined by a 75/25 system, where the televote will be the one with most power. Since UMK adopted this system, Finland always qualified to the Grand Final!

3 members of our EuroAlfa Team listened and reviewed the 7 finalists of UMK 2024. Below you can see our thoughts. Enjoy!

7th – Sexmane – “Mania”

Raul: He reminds me about Lil Nas X – idk why :)) But it’s a no for Eurovision, sorry. 6/10

Reza: It’s something new and fresh and I totally appreciate that. I just don’t connect to the song as much as I would’ve liked to. 5/10

Robert: 6/10

Total: 17/30

6th – Jesse Markin – “Glow”

Raul: I don’t like this one. It’s more like a radio song, definitely not for Eurovision. 4/10

Reza: This is actually a cool song and I am really vibing with it. Probably it won’t go far at Eurovision but this doesn’t make it a bad song. 7/10

Robert: 6/10

Total: 17/30

5th – Sini Sabotage – “Kuori mua”

Raul: A good song for radio, not for Eurovision. The music video looks very nice, very 2010’s, the song is not bad, is not good either, it is average. 7/10

Reza: This is such a catchy and good-feel song. Sini Sabotage is extremely charismatic and I just love her presence and vibes. I am sure she will deliver a great live performance on Saturday. However the song is not extraordinary and I don’t think it’s the strongest one in this national final. 7/10

Robert: 7/10

Total: 21/30

=3rd – Windows95man – “No Rules!”

Raul: A song which reminds me of Crazy Loop :))) It’s a good song, it can be on top 15 in Malmö. Even though the production is good and the sound is very modern this song is just not my cup of tea. 7/10

Reza: This is actually excelent. It’s one of my biggest guilty pleasures of this National Final season. The chorus is catchy, they are fun, the song is cool. Nothing about this is serious yet everything is so good. I wouldn’t be surprised if this will win the televote and represent Finland. It sounds like a better version of the song that finished 2nd last year. 9/10

Robert: 6/10

Total: 22/30

=3rd – Mikael Gabriel x nublu – “Vox Populi”

Raul: Ok, this sounds very very nice actually, I like it very much, the production is interesting, I am very very curious about the staging tbh :)) The music video is interesting, it looks so so nice, the only thing I didn’t like it’s the ending, I want moreeeeee. 9/10

Reza: I just don’t like this one as much as the others do. It’s alright but I find it pretty annoying. The only good thing is that it’s pretty catchy and well produced. 6/10

Robert: 7/10

Total: 22/30

2nd – Cyan Kicks – “Dancing With Demons”

Raul: OMG THEY’RE BACK!!!! I love the song, BUT Hurricane was better! It’s a classic song that Finland sends every year. 2nd in my personal top. 9/10

Reza: I disagree with Raul, I actually think that this is miles better than Hurricane. Furthermore, we all know how much Finland loves rock songs and well… this one is clearly an excelent one. I am very excited about the performance, I know they will burn that stage. 9/10

Robert: 8/10

Total: 26/30

1st – Sara Siipola – “Paskana

Raul: My winner of this selection, it is totally different from what Finland sends every year, the sound, the production are just perfect! I can see this in the top 10. 10/10

Reza: This is just perfection. I love everything about this song and I really hope that she can deliver it live and win the selection. Such a beautiful and powerful song with a deep meaning behind it. 10/10

Robert: 8/10

Total: 28/30

Sara Siipola is EuroAlfa’s favourite but is she going to win UMK 2024? We will find out together on Saturday. Stay tuned!
