Welcome baaaack! We are in the week of Deltavling 2 of Melodifestivalen 2024!!!!

In this deltavling, 6 songs will compete for 2 places in the final and 2 for 2nd Chance! Our team has given a feedback about the rehearsals and of course some points! Enjoy!

1.MARIA SUR – WHEN I’AM GONE

Reza: This is such a big improvement from her last Mello attempt. A very modern and catchy pop track. The staging is elevating the song’s atmosphere pretty well and Maria is delivering a good vocal performance. However I don’t think this will be a contender to win Mello but it deserves to be in the final. Overall this is the best package in this semi-final.
Overall ranking: 9/10

Raul: I love the staging, the song is Air 2.0, but all in all it looks so nice, she seems a bit scared, a bit off. The Melodifestivalen staging for this song is >>> than the song itself

2. ENGMANS KAPELL – NORRLAND

Reza: Well this one will have its fan and they will mostly be over 40. It’s a type of song we always hear at Melodifestivalen but they are never going far in the competition. All in all it’s a cute and nostalgic song but it’s not the type of song I would enjoy listening to more than twice
Overall ranking: 5.5/10

Raul: Nah, the Melodifestivalen song that we have each and every year :)) Not a winner for sure, so let’s move ooooon

3. DEAR SARA – THE SILENCE AFTER YOU

Reza: Sadly this one is just not strong enough to stand out in this semi-final. I think I would’ve enjoyed this song more as a studio cut but the live performance is a bit flat. It’s a cute pop song but nothing more. The staging is not helping either.
Overall ranking: 6.5/10

Raul: The song is average, the staging is a bit flat, I don’t think this will go to final or 2nd chance, sadly for her. The staging is not enough for Eurovision. The song is not bad, not the best. Overall, it’s not strong enough.

4. C-JOE – AHUMMA

Reza: This is fun and this semi-final needs this kind of song. I love his charisma and the way he is enjoying performing this song. The chorus is the best part of the song as it’s gonna make you dance. This song is such a bomb of positivity. However I don’t think this will qualify but you never know with Sweden
Overall ranking: 7/10

Raul: What is that?! Well, let me tell you, the Jungle (he make some noise like we are in jungle) 🙂 It’s the perfect song if you have a bad vibe, this is so so nice!!! The chorus just perfect. BUT overall, I guess he will stay in Goteborg 🙁

5. LIAMOO – DRAGON

Reza: Well… I had big expectations after “Bluffin” which was such a bop and I am kind of disappointed by what he is bringing this year to the competition. It’s a nice song and you can expect a LOT of fire. Actually I think that the staging is better than the song itself. One thing I can assure is that he won’t win Mello. I hope this will grow on me tho.

Raul: This screams like Zia 2.0!!!! I love the staging, the song, I love everything, it’s FIRE!!! Like Eleni Foureira said: YEAH YEAH FIREEEE!!!! Lots of fire, lots of all. If Loreen and Andrew Lambrou would have a kid, this is Liamoo!

6. FRÖKEN SNUSK – UNGA & FRIA

Reza: This is actually a cool song and performance. This gives you a very festive vibe. You know that type of song that brings people together? This could totally qualify in the final over both Liamoo and Maria. My concern is that the backing vocalists are crazy loud, she is barely singing but well… it is what it is. I think this song requires more energy as well than she is delivering on stage.
Overall ranking: 7.5/10

Raul: This is a good song and a good performance! When I first saw it I was hmmm San Marino 2022 but with pink. This song can be DTF or in 2nd Chance for sure! Her energy is a bit low, maybe it’s the emotions idk.

That’s all about Melodifestivalen 2024 Deltavling 2! Let’s see who will qualify to the Final and to the 2nd Chance! Deltavling 2 of Melodifestivalen will take place tomorrow in Goteborg at 20:00 CEST where two songs will go DIREKT TILL FINALEN and two songs will go to 2ND CHANCE which will take place at the end of the Deltavling 5.
