Welcome back to Euro Alfa! We had the honour to see all the performances of Melodifestivalen Deltavling 1 and Raul & Reza have some opinions about each act from Deltavling 1! Enjoy!

1. Adam Woods – Supernatural

Reza: Adam delivers a pretty strong vocal performance, the high note was a bit rough but overall vocally he was great. The song is very nice as well. I would describe it as a typical male pop song Sweden used to send between 2015-2019. It’s a good opener and the staging is pretty great as well. However there is nothing we have not heard or seen before.
Overall rating: 8.5/10

Raul: I love what I saw! I saw a very intim performance at the begining, then we go with lots of beautiful camera angles (here I can say that the stage is amazing), beautiful graphics. His vocals are amazing, I am glad that he came alone this year. The song is very nice, it is the perfect song for Adam. This song will be for sure in the final.
Overall rating: 10/10

2. Samir & Viktor – Hela världen väntar

Reza: I was very excited when I heard that they will be back but this is their weakest attempt in Mello. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad song… but even though it has a party vibe to it, it’s just not as fun and crazy as we would expect from them. Just a cute swedish pop song. I don’t think they will get into the final this year.
Overall rating: 7/10

Raul: At the beginning of the performance I was like: what is this, BUT when the chours came OMG!!!! The song is so nice, I guess they will go to the 2nd Chance. Their performance is just like a party. This pop song reminds me of Nema Problema by Medina. The vocals are weak in some parts, but overall they are very very okay.
Overall rating: 8/10

3. Melina – Min melodi

Reza: This is your typical cute slow Mello ballad that it’s not going to qualify. I am usually a fan of ballads but I must admit that this one did not grab me as much. The staging is very simple but effective. Overall it’s a sweet moment but that’s it.
Overall rating: 6/10

Raul: This song reminds me about JESC 2021 Bulgaria, Iceland 2022 and other act from MelFest 2023 final. It is so so nice, but not my cup of tea. Very intim camera angles, lots of lights, her vocals are good, she is sweet, but that’s all.
Overall rating: 5/10

4. Elisa Lindström – Forever Yours

Reza: There is no mello without a old-fashioned schlager. It’s very catchy and well-made and Elisa is very good vocally. The staging reminds me a bit of Ella (Cyprus 2022). Overall this is a nice one but I don’t think it’s going to be enough to end up in the top 2 of this semifinal.
Overall rating: 7.5/10

Raul: Oh hello, Elisa! The song is in my mind since the first time when i heard it 🙂 I love the performance, her vocals OMG!!!! The song is very very cathcy, the staging is a bit Cyprus 2022 but hey, the colors, the camera angles, everything is just PERFECT!
Overall rating: 9/10

5. Lisa Ajax – Awful liar

Reza: This song is clearly my favourite one in this semi-final. This is the type of ballad that I love. As we all knew before, Lisa is amazing vocally and she delivers a stunning performance with this song as well. However I must admit that I am not such a big fan of this staging, but this is my only criticism. Even though it’s going to be tough, I hope she can qualify
Overall rating: 10/10

Raul: Welcome back, Lisa Ajax! The first time whe I saw it I was like: hell no, BUT after 3-4 times (when she was rehearsing) I said that maybe it’s not that bad, then tonight at the general rehearsal SHE ATE THE PERFORMANCE!!! Her vocals are very strong, the performance is amazing, very colorful, the song is that swedish balad that we need!

6. Smash Into Pieces – Heroes Are Calling

Reza: The big favourites of this semi-final did not disappoint. I think I like this one more than their previous attempt. The hook is very catchy and vocally everything went perfectly. I just don’t know if this song is good enough to win the whole national selection.
Overall rating: 9/10

Raul: When you say Smash Into Pieces you say AMAZING PERFORMANCE. The song? 10/10. The staging? 10/10. The vocals? 10/10. Anything strange or wrong? NO. Just PERFECT. Can’t wait for you, our readers, to see the whole performance. Defenetly Direkt TILL FINALEN (top 3 if not winner).

That’s all about Melodifestivalen 2024 Deltavling 1! Let’s see who will qualify to the Final and to the 2nd Chance! Deltavling 1 of Melodifestivalen will take place tomorrow in Malmo (imagine Farah Abadi pronnounciation of Malmo) at 20:00 CEST where two songs will go DIREKT TILL FINALEN and two songs will go to 2ND CHANCE which will take place at the end of the Deltavling 5.
