Tomorrow the Deltavling 5 of Melodifestivalen 2024 will take place in Karlstad, together with 2nd Chance where 10 songs from all Deltavlings (2 songs from each Deltavling, 3rd and 4th place).

In this week the following songs will compete for the two places DIREKT TILL FINALEN and for the 2 places for 2nd chance voting round.

1. Marcus & Martinus – Unforgettable

Raul: The song is unexpected, not as good as AIR (2023 M&M), but the whole performance and the staging are just perfect. The staging is like a club hall, very modern, the walls with LEDs are exactly where they need to be. Overall, M&M for the win. 10/10

Reza: They are here to win and they will probably gonna do it. It’s everything we’ve expected from them and more. The staging is excellent, maybe the best one we’ve seen in the competition so far and the song sounds like Sweden would totally send! A pop dance banger. 9.5/10

Robert: The song is very memorable and the instrumental is extremely good. Also the vocals are on point. They never dissapoint us! They are back and they could represent Sweden for sure. 10/10

Overall: 29.5/30

2. Chelsea Muco – Controlla 

Raul: This Deltavling is so so nice, Chelsea is one of the 2nd chance participants for sure. The song is very nice, modern, radio friendly, this is the basic song from Melfest. Vocals are good, the staging it’s perfect, is so colourful, 8/10.

Reza: Some afrobeats in Mello. This is nice, fun and colorful. It’s not competitive enough and it doesn’t stand any chance to win but it’s nice to have diverse songs like this one in the line up. She might qualify to the 2nd round if she’s gonna deliver it well on Saturday. 6.5/10

Robert: Some really nice afrobeats! She delivers a nice package. It is really unique and nicely sung. Bop! 9/10

3. Jay Smith – Back to My Roots

Raul: Not my cup of tea, but the song is good, the vocals are strong, the staging is amazing, maybe he will go to the 2nd chance round 7/10

Reza: It’s the cute pop country song that it’s going to appeal more to the older audience than the young one. It’s not bad but I feel like we’ve had better songs of this type in the competition. 6/10

Robert: Really, really good! The quality and the production are so good! It also nicely performed! Really good vibes. 9/10

Overall: 22/30

4. Elektra – Banne maj

Raul: I LOVE THIS so so much, it reminds me of Skrellex from MGP 2023. The performance is amazing, the pyro are there, the voice is so so strong, the dancers OMG. I love love love it, 9/10.

Reza: A cute swedish schlager. Elecktra is performing the song very well but I just did not like this one that much. Just like Jay Smith, I feel like we’ve had better schalgers in the competition and this one doesn’t stand out enough. However I think that it might qualify to the 2nd round. 6/10

Robert: Really cute song! A schlager for sure. We love it! She looks stunning and she nicely serves. Good job, Elektra! 7/10

5. Annika Wickihalder – Light

Raul: This song is good, but this Deltavling is so strong, so she will be DIREKT TILL HOME 🙁 the vocals are very strong, the song is just perfect, but she is in the wrong deltavling 🙁 8/10.

Reza: This was actually very good. One of the best ballads of this year’s Mello. I was totally surprised by it. Everything works very well and she will totally qualify for the 2nd round. This deserved a spot in the final but we all know that M&M and Medina will make it. However I hope Sweden will show some appreciation for it. 8.5/10

Robert: Really nice voice and vocals. A really good song, with a scent of a big stage 8/10.

6. Medina – Que Sera

Raul: This can easily win the Eurovision 2024, but I guess that Sweden will not send this because it is in swedish 🙁 This is very similar to France 2010, for me they are the winners of Melodifestivalen 2024, we have pyro, we have THAT song, we have camera angles, we have STRONG VOICES!!!! 10+/10.

Reza: This is such a great anthemic song. Medina did not disappoint either. This has a World Cup vibe around it and I think that people are going to love it. The staging is great as well and the energy is great. However, I don’t think that they will win this year. 8.5/10

Robert: Wow! What a colorful perfomance! This a potential World Cup song and it is really nice produced! The instrumental is lit and we love them so much! Good job guys! Also a potential winner. 9.5/10
