Hello everyone! We are in the 4th week of Melodifestivalen 2024!

In this deltävling, 6 songs will compete for 2 places in the final and 2 for 2nd Chance! 2 of our members reviewed the rehearsals and here are our thoughts:

1. Albin Tingwall – Done Getting Over You

Photograf: Stina Stjernkvist

Raul: His vocals are interesting, the song gives me vibe of “Direkt til Home” or “2nd Chance”. It’s not wow, it’s not meh, it’s not the worst. I have mixed feelings on this one. 6/10

Reza: I like the song. It’s very fresh, fun and catchy. It’s the type of song I would listen to! However, I just don’t think it’s competitive enough for Melodifestivalen. He could deliver the song better than he does as he is lacking energy and some passion. The staging is pretty meh and it’s not doing him any favours. 7/10

Total: 13/20

2. Lia Larsson – 30 km/h

Photograf: Stina Stjernkvist

Raul: Unexpected to be honest. The song is so so catchy and the staging is awesome as well. The vocals are there and I just want this to qualify so bad. 10/10

Reza: It’s the type of song I would expect Samir & Viktor to come with. It’s that kind of nordic song that you will hear at their parties. Because of that, I am sure she will score well with the young audiences. Personally, I like the song but I am not crazy about it. I think we’ve heard this type of song millions of time before and it’s really nothing new. However, this is very catchy and memorable so it’s gonna stick to you for some time. 7/10

Total: 17/20

3. Dotter – It’s Not Easy To Write a Love Song

Photograf: Stina Stjernkvist

Raul: Okay, Loreen + Cornelia = Dotter 🙂 The song is good, the staging is very confident, but Little Tot and Bulletproof were much better. When I heard the first rehearsal I was like: meh, the 2nd one okay it has something and in the 3rd one she convinced me more. 7/10

Reza: I expected so much more from her, especially after she said that she is not going to compete in Melodifestivalen again. So I thought that she will comeback with a winning song but she didn’t 🙁 I had Bulletproof and Little Tot as my winners but I don’t think that this song levels up to her last participations. Don’t get me wrong, the song is pretty good, I really like it, the staging is great but it’s just not enough to win and that’s what upsets me the most. As Raul mentioned, the song is a grower, so the more you listen to it, the more you will like it. Moreover, the vocals were very shaky towards the ending of the song as well. 8.5/10

Total: 15.5/20

4. SCARLET – “Circus X”

Photograf: Stina Stjernkvist

Raul: OMG!!!! This is very very good actually! The song is wow, the staging and camera angles are JUST PERFECT!!! This screams DIREKT TILL FINALEN. They need to work a bit at the vocals but this can be fix quickly. My 2nd place in this deltavling. 9/10

Reza: The Swedish version of “IT”. It sounds like a song that would compete in Melodi Grand Prix. They have the best staging of this semi-final and they have great energy and chemistry. There are parts of the song that I really love but there are also parts of the songs that I didn’t like it at all. So I need to listen to this one a couple of times to really decide what I think about it. However, I think that eurofans will totally fall in love with this act. 7.5/10

Total: 16.5/20

5. Lasse Stefanz – En sång om sommaren

Photograf: Stina Stjernkvist

Raul: Yeah the basic Mello song, nothing special, i love that platform actually which is very interesting, the song sounds outdated, of course, this won’t make it to the final. 5/10

Reza: This was pretty wholesome, so I am sure that the oldies will vote for him. Will it be enough though? Probably not. I think that this song is so much better than other swedish schlagers that we’ve heard until now. It’s actually a nice song, not going to lie, I actually enjoyed it. As well, I can say that with the right amount of alcohol, I would totally vibe with this one. 7/10

Total: 12/20

6. Danny Saceudo– Happy That You Found Me

Photograf: Stina Stjernkvist

Raul: Wtf is this DANNY????????? This is not what I expected at all. The song has the potential for a top 3 in the final but with that staging no chance. DTF? NO. 2nd chance? Depends, maybe he will go to home. Its a no for me… 5/10

Reza: This is a great and polished track. This will qualify without any problems in the final. It’s modern, catchy and what we all wanted from Danny, a dance track. It’s a bit nostalgic as well, and it reminds me of his previous Mello atempts, “In Da Club” and “Amazing”. For me, this is the best song and performance of this semi-final. However, I don’t think that he will win Melodifestivalen, even though the song has the potential to do it, but a better staging and outfit is needed. 9/10

Total: 14/20

Our combined scoreboard:

  1. Lia Larsson – 30 km/h (17p)
  2. SCARLET – “Circus X” (16.5p)
  3. Dotter – It’s Not Easy To Write a Love Song (15.5p)
  4. Danny Saceudo– Happy That You Found Me (14p)
  5. Albin Tingwall – Done Getting Over You (13p)
  6. Lasse Stefanz – En sång om sommaren (12p)
