The Netherlands has announced its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025: Claude Kiambe, known mononymously as Claude, will perform the song “C’est la vie.” Released on February 27, 2025, “C’est la vie” is a bilingual track blending French and English, combining elements of dance-pop with Afrobeat rhythms.

Claude, a 21-year-old artist originally from Congo, moved to the Netherlands at the age of nine. His musical career gained momentum with his 2022 debut single “Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot),” which garnered over 57 million streams. He has since received accolades such as the 3FM Award for ‘Best Newcomer’ and was named ‘3FM Talent.’

The selection of Claude follows the Netherlands’ decision to participate in Eurovision 2025 after the disqualification of their 2024 representative, Joost Klein. Klein declined the opportunity to represent the country again in 2025.

“C’est la vie” carries a message of resilience and optimism, reflecting Claude’s personal experiences. He describes the song as a tribute to his mother, who taught him to find positivity even in challenging times. The lyrics emphasize embracing life’s ups and downs with a hopeful outlook.

At Eurovision 2025, Claude will perform “C’est la vie” during the first semi-final on May 13, aiming to secure a spot in the grand final scheduled for May 17.
