Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG has announced that Montesong 2024, the Montenegrin selection method for next year’s ESC will no longer be held across two nights and will instead be a one-night show.

The Montenegrin selection for the next year’s Eurovision Song Contest has been revised from a two-night selection to a one-night finale. Montesong 2024 will be held on November 27, at the Voco Sports Hall in Podgorica. Danijel AlibabiΔ‡, the Director of Montesong 2024 told RTCG that:

“We can expect diversity and openness to all genres in order to offer everything we like to listen the most. We believe that the best concept will win, with a large audience in the decision. We are working hard on all segments to justify what we have already announced – that you will see the best festival in the region.”

Song submissions for Montesong 2024 are open until 1st of October 2024. All entries will be reviewed with sixteen acts selected to compete to represent Montenegro at Eurovision 2025. The winner will be chosen by jury (50%) and televote (50%).

The Balkan country will return to Eurovision 2025 after a two-year break. Montenegro took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, in Turin, when Vladana finished 17th in the second semi-final, failing to qualify for the grand final.
