Meet Ukraine’s Finalists and Listen to Their Songs

Suspilne Ukraine has unveiled the songs of the six finalists for Ukraine’s National Selection for Junior Eurovision 2024. Presentation videos of each entry are now available on the Eurovision Ukraine YouTube channel.

The songs were created by music producer Svitlana Tarabarova and songwriter Yevhen Triplov.

On September 22, the finalists will compete for the chance to represent Ukraine at Junior Eurovision 2024 in Madrid, Spain. The show begins at 18:00 Kyiv time. Suspilne will broadcast the final on the Eurovision Ukraine YouTube channel.

Finalists’ Songs:

1. Anastasiia Belibova — “Unbelievable”  The song of 13-year-old Anastasia focuses on teens facing emotional challenges, reminding them of their uniqueness and encouraging them to embrace themselves despite mood swings or self-esteem struggles. Written by Yevhen Triplov. 


2. Angelina Hlohuz — “Плачуть янголи” (Plachut yanholy / Crying Angels)  In this song, 12-year-old Angelina sings about angels who are saddened by human cruelty, but also offers hope that after the rain, the rainbow will shine again. The song serves as a reminder of  kindness and faith in a better future. Written by Yevhen Triplov.  


3. Zlata Ivaniv — “НАМИСТО” (Namysto / Necklace)  The song of 10-year-old Zlata is dedicated to a symbol of Ukrainian culture — the mother’s necklace, which symbolizes the memory of generations. It is not just a piece of jewelry but an important talisman passed down through generations, representing the link between the past and the future. Written by Svitlana Tarabarova. 


4. Veronika Kohan — “Harmony” 

Veronika, 11, sings about self-expression and breaking free from stereotypes. Her song encourages people to be themselves without conforming to others’ expectations. Veronika sings about breaking free from prejudices and the courage to be authentic in one’s feelings and actions. Written by Yevhen Triplov.  


5. Illia Konovchenko — “SPACESHIP” 

In this song, 12-year-old Illia dreams of a spaceship that will take him to his biggest dream.The track serves as a reminder of the importance of believing in one’s dreams and persevering in achieving goals, as it is dreamers who drive the world forward. Written by Svitlana Tarabarova. 


6. Artem Kotenko — “ДІМ” (Dim / Home) 

The song of 12-year-old Artem is dedicated to the theme of home as a place of strength and warm feelings. It talks about the importance of having a space that provides comfort and safety, especially for Ukrainians who have lost their homes or been forced to leave due to the war. Written by Svitlana Tarabarova.  


The final of Ukraine’s National Selection for Junior Eurovision 2024 will take place on September 22, starting at 18:00. The winner will be determined by a combination of jury and audience votes. Hosting the show are Ukrainian singer and former Junior Eurovision representative Anna Trincher, Ukraine’s Eurovision commentator Timur Miroshnychenko, and Eurovision Ukraine vlogger Anna Tulieva.
