Spring 2024, the 4 kids Chiara (14), Inkar (12), Miucha (13) and Niek (13) auditioned individually for the National selection of the Junior Songfestival. The chemistry was there and the group Stay Tuned was born.

Producers Willem Laseroms and Jermain van der Bogt wrote the song ‘Music’ especially for them. It reflects their variety of interests and love for different styles of music. Music unites, music brings people together, music connects, everyone understands the language of music and what they sing is what they believe in: ‘All we need is music in our lives’. Stay Tuned sings about how music has helped them to feel better and find self-confidence.

And with the votes from the Jury, the kids jury and the public votes, they took the trophy home on 21 September and guaranteed their ticket to Madrid

Chiara has been singing even before she could talk. She has starred in several musicals, ‘ Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ (Veruca Salt) and ‘Pietje Bell the musical’. Chiara has been dancing for 7 years at Lucia Marthas in Rotterdam. She is also a mega fan of soccer and loves supporting her favorite club, Feyenoord, she even has has a season ticket. She likes singing in the shower, and especially songs with high notes.

Inkar has also been singing since she was 4 years old! She performed in the famous Dutch children’s choir “Kinderen voor Kinderen”. Inkar is a member of a large family in Kazakhstan, but she lives with her mother in Amsterdam. Playing tennis is something Inkar likes to do. Like a true ‘nomad’, Inkar loves horse riding. Her favorite artist is the Dutch famous star Roxy Dekker, who also participated in Junior Songfestival a few years ago. If Inkar could live anywhere in the world, it would be in Rome, because of its beautiful buildings. But also because the people in Rome are very cheerful and the weather is nice! Inkar’s strangest habit is that she ALWAYS listens to music.

Niek loves to perform. Ever since grade 6, Niek plays and sings in a band with some classmates. When Niek was 10, he was chosen at a festival in Utrecht to sing with the Dutch artist ‘Snelle’. And when he’s not singing, he’s practicing playing piano! Niek’s ideal day looks like this: No school, hanging around with lots of friends, visiting an amusement park, sunshine, dinner with sushi and watching movies or football together until midnight! If Niek doesn’t become a singer, he would like to become a chef. He created his own ice cream flavor for an assignment at school and eventually got to realize it!

When Miucha was 8 years old, she entered the stage for the first time and performed together with her father. On her 10th birthday, she participated in The Voice Kids, but unfortunately that season that was never broadcasted. One year later, she participated in the TV show Ministars’. Miucha also likes to play soccer with her team. In the future Miucha would like to go to a jazz conservatoire or rock academy. Miucha is named after a Brazilian singer, Miúcha. But how do you pronounce Miucha? Like Mee-oe-sja

What are your hobbies?
Chiara: “I really like singing, dancing, acting, playing/watching soccer and seeing my friends!”
Inkar: “Dancing, singing and playing piano.” And as a true nomad, I love horseriding!
Miucha: “Singing, football and shopping.”
Niek: “Of course singing and making music with my band. I also like playing outside with my friends. What I really enjoy now is watching European Championship soccer matches with my friends (especially of the Dutch team).”

What do you sing when taking a shower?
Chiara: “Songs with high notes, because in the shower everything sounds nicer haha. I usually sing ‘Hopelessly devoted’.
Inkar: “Songs from the Junior Song Contest of course :)”
Miucha: “I sing anything and everything in the shower, but right now mostly ‘Music’ and the national Junior Songcontest common song ‘Move On’!”
Niek: “Anything, as long as it can be hard with heavy belting!

Who is your favorite artist?
Chiara: “Olivia Rodrigo.”
Inkar: “Adele.”
Miucha: “I don’t have one.”

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Chiara: “Ideally, I want to be a singer, of course, but if that’s not possible, I want to be a sports journalist.”
Inkar: “An actress, singer or dancer.”
Miucha: “Something with singing, make-up artist or something with children”
Niek: “Musician/singer. And otherwise something in the hospitality industry, chef or something.”

How did your passion for music start?
Miucha: “My dad is a musician and since I was born I have always heard music (Brazilian, Jazz etc) and I always liked to dance and sing along with the music. Since I have been very young I make music together with my dad.”

What was the funniest moment you’ve had together?
Inkar: “Definitely recording the videos with Stay Tuned.”
Miucha: “We have a lot of funny moments together, recording the “most likely” video for our YouTube channel was really great but also camping out with all the finalists of the National Song Contest 2024.”
