On the weekend of November 8 to 10, the LSC auditions took place in RTL City. 77 songs were submitted and in the end 12 acts were shortlisted.

In the end, seven candidates made it to the finals. Among them are familiar faces, but also new singers, as well as bands. They will compete against each other on the big stage in the Rockhal on January 25th and then we will know who will compete for Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel.

These are the 7 finalists

Laura Thorn

Laura is a new face to the public and works as a teacher at the Escher Conservatory. Music is literally his world, as shown by the simple musical formations: from piano to cello, keyboard, soundtracks and even dance. Laura even has a master’s degree in solfège, medical pedagogy and also in pop singing, which she completed at the IMEP in Namur.

One Last Time

The pop-rock band, with Andrea Galleti, Jonathan Fersino, Tom Sagramola, Alessandro Sorbello and Barbara Salvi, is already known from the last edition. They were formed in 2021/22 and since then have already had successful performances. So they want to know it again. They were already able to convince the jury… By the way, their first album will be released next year.

Luzac

Luzac is an educator who discovered his passion for singing and dancing at an early age. At the moment, in addition to this challenge, he has given himself the challenge of learning the violin. His world is the so-called “urban pop”. He doesn’t just sing, but he also writes and composes songs, but so far only for other artists. His first single “J’y arriverai” was released in 2021. But it shouldn’t stop there, Luzac is working on a first album.

MÄNA

And another new discovery in the musical landscape. As a student at the music school in Diddeleng, MÄNA learned two instruments, violin and flute. He is currently a member of an orchestra, where he plays the flute. Then came the song in the repertoire, and as you can see with success. In addition to studying to become a teacher, MÄNA released his first single “Stay” in 2023.

Rhythmic Soulwave

The second volume continues with them. The six musicians met and trained at the State Conservatory. Mael Fontana, Leopold Strauβ and Angela Aguilera are Luxembourgish, Diego Lucero has Spanish origins, Zakar Lörinc is Hungarian and the singer Carmen Carbonnell Suarez has both Hungarian and Cuban origins. This group promises an interesting musical mix that will take you on a tour around the world, from jazz to Latin-American tones, classical pieces as well as pop and rock.

Rafa Ela

This time not as a duo, but solo. Rafa Ela was on stage with Angy last year and is now trying it alone for the new LSC adventure. The singer already has a lot of experience on her musical path: in 2016 she participated in Luxembourg’s Next Popstar, in 2018 in Top Voice Luxembourg, in addition to regular performances in restaurants and bars.

ZERO POINT FIVE

With them is the last finalist and another group in the LSC final. It is a Luxembourg formation, made up of 3 members – Federico (Kiko) Menichetti, Gilles Saracini and Christophe Reitz – which you already know from live concerts and festivals. Their style includes both pop, folk and country and they have been delighting the public since 2009.
