Greece is officially set to participate in the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Basel, Switzerland, in 2025. The Greek national broadcaster, ERT, has confirmed their involvement after successfully submitting the required participation form to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), securing the country’s spot in the highly anticipated music event.

While the confirmation has been made, ERT has yet to finalize how it will choose its representative for the 2025 contest. With an administrative change currently underway at the broadcaster, the decision on the selection process is expected to be announced after September 18, when the new administration takes over. This has left fans in anticipation as Greece’s national broadcaster has not yet disclosed whether it will opt for an internal selection or a national final to choose the artist and song.\

This year’s confirmation follows Greece’s memorable journey at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. Marina Satti, representing Greece with the song “ZARI,” delivered a captivating performance that earned the country a respectable 11th place finish in the Grand Final.

As the countdown to the 2025 contest continues, all eyes will be on ERT’s forthcoming decision on the selection process. Will Greece opt for an established artist, a rising talent, or something completely unexpected?
