The band One Morning Left will no longer continue in the competition. Yle has excluded the band from the competition due to a contract violation. Yle and One Morning Left have discussed the matter and agree on the basis for the decision.

UMK’s executive producer Anssi Autio comments: “Unfortunately, One Morning Left will not be seen in this year’s UMK, as the band has not fully complied with the competition’s rules. The decision also involved the rules of the Eurovision Song Contest, set by the EBU, which clearly state that such a rule violation is an unequivocal obstacle to Eurovision representation.”

Anonymous allegations have surfaced on social media against one of our band members. These claims suggest that Mika Lahti may have interacted with a minor on IRC-Galleria between 2007 and 2010, whether knowingly or unknowingly.

The accusations have come as a complete shock to the band, UMK, Yle, and all associated partners and collaborators. While the allegations are solely directed at Mika Lahti, they do not involve the other current band members.

In response, Leevi, Juuso, Miska, and Dennis have immediately departed from the band, expressing their deep shock at the situation. The remaining members and all associated partners firmly distance themselves from these allegations, which in no way align with their values.

In light of this information, One Morning Left will not continue in the New Music Competition, but will withdraw from it on this date. At the same time, all activities of the band will be terminated and the underlying One Morning Left company will be dissolved immediately.
Mika Lahti denies the accusations. He is also ready to file a criminal complaint against the unfounded allegations.
