The selected 20 composers are:

  • Henka (from open submissions)
  • Inês Marques Lucas (from open submissions)
  • JOSH (from open submissions)
  • Xico Gaiato (from open submissions)

This year, 20 artists will participate. RTP has directly invited 14 composers to contribute songs, while six additional entries were selected through open submissions. The festival will include two semi-finals and one final round, scheduled as follows:

  • Semi-Final 1: Saturday, February 22, 2025
  • Semi-Final 2: Saturday, March 1, 2025
  • Final: Saturday, March 8, 2025

Each semi-final will feature 10 artists, and six from each will progress to the final. The results of each semi-final will be decided over two rounds:

  1. First Round: A 50/50 split between a national jury and a public vote. The top five from this combined ranking will advance to the final.
  2. Second Round: Determined solely by the public vote, adding one more song to the final lineup.

This format sets the stage for a highly engaging selection process as Portugal prepares for Eurovision 2025.
