Raul:ย “Una diva es sencilla/Como un simple mortal”. Spain you had one thing to do, to keep the version of the song like in Benidorm Fest. This version is not bad either, I like it a lot, but there are some who won’t like the song in this version (you could say it’s a remix). We know that Melody is a diva in the true sense of the word, her presence on stage is felt to the fullest (meaning she fills the stage without needing many elements on stage), her voice is strong, you can feel the experience. About the moment in Basel I don’t know what to say because there are so many versions that I’m convinced that RTVE didn’t even think of :)))

Reza:ย Benidorm Fest wasnโ€™t exactly the strongest national selection this year, but it did feature some songs that could have worked well at Eurovision and achieved a decent result. Even though the juries tried to push these songs to victory, the Spaniards have once again shown that they donโ€™t really know how to vote or pick the right entry for Eurovision. That being said, “ESA DIVA” is the kind of song that could work well at Euroclub and generally appeals to the Eurovision fandom. It has all the right ingredients for that niche. However, just like last year with “Zorra”, itโ€™s the type of entry that doesnโ€™t resonate with the general public. Although Melody has a good voice and delivers an over-the-top performance, her song simply isnโ€™t strong or memorable enough. It will likely fail to impress both the juries and the televoters. Sadly, it looks like another safe and locked bottom 5 finish for Spain this year.

Laurentiu:ย “Esa Diva” by Melody is a significant letdown. The song feels outdated, reminiscent of early 2010s pop, and lacks the innovation expected in today’s Eurovision landscape. Despite a revamped version intended to modernize the track, it seems to have further diminished its appeal .โ€‹While Melody is a seasoned performer with a notable career, I think that the choice of “Esa Diva” raises questions about Spain’s strategy in the competition. The song’s reliance on clichรฉd themes and its lack of contemporary flair may not resonate with the broader Eurovision audience. Given the strong entries from other countries this year, i’s challenging to envision “Esa Diva” securing a top position.โ€‹ It will be another bottom 5 for Spain. A big No.

Stefania: Melody brings charisma and stage presence, and the chorus is super memorable. Bonus: My mother likes it too. Instant points for cross-generational appeal.
Grade: 8/10

Florin: I LOVED the first version of the song. The flamenco parts were everything and the Spanish sound was just something I really-really like. I can tell it felt a little outdated in some parts of the song, but still, I loved it overall. The new version is still okay, but it just feels like they erased those Spanish influences that made the song feel special, without necessarily adding something better. Still a good song, but the first version would have received a better score from me.

Antonio:ย Oh dear Melody…Honestly, I had totally different favorites in Benidorm Fest, but still, this song was a TOTAL BANGER in the beginning. When they released the revamp version of the song, something was missing from the whole concept. Indeed it felt more authentic and had a fresh vibe of the production, but for me the Benidorm version give me a lot of energy and screams “DIVAAAA”. I’d give Spain a higher score with the original version, but still, Melody, you go girl!
