EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Poland, represented by ALICJA with her song “Pray” 🇵🇱

1️⃣ Raul: Poland — honestly, I don’t like it, but I don’t dislike it either. For me, it’s a huge downgrade from Gaia to Pray…It might connect with the juries, but I think it’ll struggle with the televote and get fewer points there. I’m expecting a good staging, nice camera work, and vocally she’s excellent. Let’s see if it makes the final.

Grade: 7/10

2️⃣ Reza: This is one of the biggest growers of the season for me! When I first heard the song, I really cringed because of the lyrics, which I am still not the biggest fan of even now, though I tolerate them more. Alicja is fierce, she has a lovely voice and strong stage presence, and she could win Eurovision any day, just maybe not this year. However, “Pray” is a great, modern, very urban song that may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is a strong composition and a combination of styles that we have not really heard before at Eurovision. I really enjoy streaming this song and, for that reason, I will give it a high score! As a Eurovision entry, only time will tell how well it will do!

Grade: 9/10

3️⃣ Florin: I really like the Polish entry this year. The comeback Alicja deserves. I like how the different genres blend together and it’s giving me Raye vibes, especially the “rap” part. I’m not the biggest fan of the religious message, but this is a really good entry, and it’s a little bit underrated by fans. I think this has the potential to place in the top 10 with a good staging.

Grade: 9/10

4️⃣ Stefania: A decent effort with some solid elements, but it doesn’t fully come together. The production is acceptable, yet the song feels a bit predictable and could benefit from a more memorable chorus. Her voice is very powerful and remains the highlight of the entry.

Grade: 5/10

5️⃣ Laur: Alicja is finally back. But such a weak song? I’m sorry. Vocally, she is great. The composition is interesting with the mix of vocals and semi-rap. It might qualify thanks to the diaspora.

Grade: 5/10

6️⃣ Titi: After six years, Alicja finally has the chance to represent Poland at Eurovision again, which makes me happy. However, is this the right moment and the right song? I’m not so sure. Alicja has a wonderful voice with exceptional control, but the song feels flat and a bit chaotic, which makes it easy to forget. Still, the artist’s voice elevates the song and could help it stand out. Mixed feelings about Poland this year.

Grade: 7/10

7️⃣ Nella: I had to say that this is my biggest grower since the start of the month. Overall, I can’t say it’s the best song send out by Poland, but, “Pray” is elevated enough by Alicja’s immerse vocals and breath control. THAT GIRL CAN SING! I started to enjoy the lyrics as well and I think it’s important to underline what’s the actual message behind the song. I am PRAYING for at least qualification in Poland, given the fact that they’re in a pretty tigh-up semi-final.

Grade: 9/10

8️⃣ Mircea: I’m happy to see Alicja finally taking her revenge for 2020 when the contest was cancelled due to Covid, but I must say, I`m not a fan of this song. I really love the first part of this, but the R&B and trap part really ruined it for me. Her voice is amazing, but the song needs a good moment on stage to make her remarked by the juries and the televotes more.

Grade: 7/10
