Raul: HELLO, NO(R) WAY!!! I was so so happy when Kyle won MGP cause he deserved it!! We have a very good song with a strong message which touched me so so hard… Vocals? Oh my God we have them and they are amazing!!! Dance moves? This guy know how to move that body!! Personality? YES SO FUCKING YES!!! Kyle is the sweetest ESC artist that I already met in my life. Back to Eurovision, I expect the best performance since KEiiNO for Norway, how many points in the final? Around 200 i think. You are not ready for Lighter 🙂‍↔️

Reza: Honestly, this is such a basic and generic song, the kind that would probably place 5th at a Melodifestivalen heat. But Kyle Alessandro is the real game-changer here. He elevated the whole thing with his vocals, performance, and charisma. Based on what he delivered at the national final, this feels like a strong overall package. The staging at MGP was amazing, and I have no doubt it’ll look just as good in Basel. So kudos to NRK for turning a relatively weak national final into something memorable with some fantastic stagings. Even though “Lighter” isn’t exactly a masterpiece, it’s super catchy, radio-friendly, and well produced it really grew on me and hasn’t left my top 10 since!

Laurentiu: This is a clear Top 10 contender. “Lighter” is a super catchy, uplifting pop banger that makes you want to get up and dance from the very first beat. The production is clean, the rhythm is infectious, and Kyle absolutely owns the stage. His voice fits the song perfectly; smooth, energetic, and with just the right touch of emotion. In addition, the choreography is adorable and adds to the overall feel-good vibe. It’s the kind of entry that audiences across Europe will connect with instantly. Norway’s definitely playing to their strengths here.

Stefania: Norway came in like a warrior in shining armor. Lighter feels like a magical anthem forged in a fantasy realm. The vocals were powerful, almost spellbinding, and the stage felt like something out of Skyrim, fierce, unforgettable.

Florin: This just screams Eurovision. It’s such a good song, I really love the way they played with the medieval sound and somewhat made it modern. Kyle is such a good performer and we saw it during MGP. Everything just works and it’s one of those songs that could make non-ESC fans search for the performance. It’s the perfect balance between appearing to a large audience for the mainstream market and yet not being “a basic bop”.

Antonio: Twinks, unite! Just kidding! Kyle’s MGP performance was outstanding and the efforts were more than visibile on the stage. I am happy for him that he has this change for Norway and I bet he’ll do more than the bare minimum at Basel. An energetic song and from what I know it’s a pretty personal song for him about his mother’s battle with cancer. Hope to see him as high as possible at Basel.
