EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Moldova, represented by Satoshi with his song “Viva Moldova” 🇲🇩

1️⃣ Raul: To be honest, I liked the song at first, but listening to it on repeat, it kind of gets tiring. It’s very catchy though, and it definitely deserves to open the semifinal. It will clearly make the final, but the jury will probably tear it apart…

Grade: 7/10

2️⃣ Reza: Moldova is back at Eurovision with a total banger! In my opinion, “Viva Moldova” is a perfect fit for the contest and exactly the kind of entry Europeans tend to love: fun, energetic, authentic, and packed with cultural flavour. Moldova has a way of consistently bringing something fresh, memorable, and entertaining to Eurovision, and more often than not, they get rewarded for it. Compared to their previous entries built around this successful formula, I honestly think “Viva Moldova” is one of their strongest. It is infectious, instantly memorable, and the chorus is extremely catchy. Satoshi comes across as a very polished and experienced performer, you can tell he is a well-established artist who feels completely at home on stage. Aliona Moon is also a fantastic addition, as she lifts the song even further with her vocals and presence. I am not the biggest fan of the blonde girl, though, because I feel like she slightly disrupts the overall balance, but hopefully they will fine-tune that in Vienna. Overall, I really love this entry.

Grade: 10/10

3️⃣ Florin: This just screams “Moldova in Eurovision”, and nobody can tell me otherwise. Even if they wouldn’t say “Moldova” in the title and lyrics, you’d know from the first 30 seconds this is their entry. I like that they stick to what works for them, cause I can see this getting lots of points from the televote, but it feels like I’ve heard this almost every year and I would really love to see something new from Moldova. The lyrics don’t make any sense, but with this type of entry, should they?

Grade: 6/10

4️⃣ Stefania: It’s hype and really interesting, and I love the energy towards the end, it really lifts the song. I just don’t understand why they did a revamp, because the original version was already good. Also, I absolutely love that Aliona Moon is included!

Grade: 7/10

5️⃣ Laur: A mix of everything. I’m tired of this formula, even if it often works for them. It’s fun and will probably qualify. For me, it’s exhausting, both the song and the staging.

Grade: 4/10

6️⃣ Titi: Moldova continues to keep its distinctive style in the competition. I was very happy when I saw that Satoshi would participate, but the song disappointed me. Maybe because I was expecting something different from him? I don’t really think so, though. The song is very repetitive, and the fact that it mixes so many languages in the lyrics makes it feel a bit meaningless. I understand the concept, but I don’t think it works that well. That said, I do appreciate the instrumental, which is very beautiful, and Aliona’s part, which really elevates the song. I’m sorry, but I don’t see Moldova doing very well this year.

Grade: 7/10

7️⃣ Nella: Satoshi is a great performer and the energy he brings on stage is amazing! But…I just don’t enjoy “Viva Moldova” as much as I did before…I believe he tried to bring a lot of modifications to optimize overall the performance but they were a bit…unnecesary. I will keep my fingers crossed for them either way and hopefully we will see them in the final as well!

Grade: 6/10

8️⃣ Mircea: A good song for Moldova, but it`s very similar to what Zdob & Zdub delivered in 2022. I love Satoshi`s energy and I like the addition of Aliona Moon for this song, really elevated it. Hoping for a better staging and live performance, because I like the song and has potential to do it well.

Grade: 8/10
