EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Malta, represented by AIDAN with his song “Bella” 🇲🇹

1️⃣ Raul: I’ll admit, Aidan wasn’t my favorite in the selection, but this is the kind of song that will connect with the juries at Eurovision, especially since we all know Malta and the televote don’t really get along. As for the song, it’s very beautiful and calming, one of those entries you either love or don’t really feel. I’m expecting a lovely staging in Vienna.

Grade: 8/10

2️⃣ Reza: Simple, yet sophisticated, that is how I would describe “Bella” in just a few words. AIDAN delivers a very effective performance that keeps you engaged for the full three minutes, and the petal tornado is chef’s kiss. We have not seen anything like this at Eurovision before, and for that reason, it will definitely stand out. Moreover, the juries will likely support it, as it feels very expensive and classy. This track could also easily work as a movie soundtrack. I would not have expected AIDAN to come with a song like this, given his previous attempts, but I am glad he brought something different. I am sure he has increased his chances of achieving a better result with an entry like this. I also love how engaged AIDAN is in his Eurovision journey, you can really see that he is enjoying every single moment of it. All in all, this is a great song and package for me, and I really enjoy listening to it.

Grade: 10/10

3️⃣ Florin: I really like the Maltese entry this year. This is such a mesmerizing song, and Aidan’s performance is also very good, even though I can say I was expecting something different from him, based on his previous attempts in MESC, but this also really work for him. I think this will appeal to the jury, and maybe with a good staging this can get some points from the televote, which I really hope it will, but we all know how Malta gets robbed every year by the tele, so we shall see what happens this year.

Grade: 8/10

4️⃣ Stefania: It’s a very nice and interesting ballad. However, I’m a bit worried it might get overshadowed by Albania. We’ll see. I’m curious to find out if he’ll bring something different to the stage.

Grade: 8/10

5️⃣ Laur: I’m happy he finally made it to Eurovision. I just wish it wasn’t with this song. I don’t believe in it. It might flop. Malta rarely does well in the televote. Maybe the juries will give some points

Grade: 5/10

6️⃣ Titi: After many years, Aidan is finally taking part in Eurovision, but with a song that I didn’t expect from him. At first, I would have expected a bop, but this year Aidan is approaching a different style. “Bella” is a beautiful song, both musically and lyrically. I didn’t expect to say this, but it actually suits Aidan’s style, and I expect the juries to support him.

Grade: 8/10

7️⃣ Nella: I am so happy for Aidan that he finally got his chance in Eurovision. The song is sweet, gentile, and his voice is absolutely beautiful. I hope the juries wont close their eyes on this entry and give Malta some good hope this year.

Grade: 8/10

8️⃣ Mircea: Aidan is finally joining the Eurovision family and I`m happy for him because he deserves it. But the song? I do not like it very much, but I don`t hate it like I felt it in the begging, so it`s a grower let`s say. It`s an unusual melody, it`s like an act and less a song, maybe it`s not for me, but I started to appreciate it more. Very excited to see this on stage with a better staging of course.

Grade: 7/10
