EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Luxembourg, represented by Eva Marija with her song “Mother Nature” 🇱🇺

1️⃣ Raul: Her song literally puts me to sleep, I feel no energy at all. On top of that, it sounds copied, so for me it’s just… bad. I can’t listen to it without yawning at least twice. The jury might save it, but personally I’d leave it at home — no need to even bother with the trip to Vienna.

Grade: 5/10

2️⃣ Reza: Eva Marija is lovely and a very charismatic performer that really elevate the song. I love her vocals and the performance in the national selection, especially the violin part. However, the song doesn’t grab me as much and it doesn’t keep me invested for the whole three minutes. It’s not a bad entry and it might score better than people think but for me, it is not a standout this year.

Grade: 5/10

3️⃣ Florin: Eva has an amazing voice and a great stage presence, but I can’t get over how much this sounds like Birdy. The “Mother Nature” message has been used and overused all over again, so nothing special about that. I think they will qualify, the song sounds good, Eva can deliver a good performance, but other than that, there’s not much depth to this.

Grade: 5/10

4️⃣ Stefania: Eva has an amazing voice and strong stage presence, but I just can’t get over how much this reminds me of Birdy. On top of that, the staging and outfit also seem like they’ve been copied from somewhere else, which really throws me off. I think it will qualify and the performance will be solid, but overall it lacks originality and depth.

Grade: 5/10

5️⃣ Laur: I know it sounds like a copy, but I think the juries will love it. I might be wrong. It’s catchy, and it reminds me of Emmelie de Forest. It could reach the top 10. The violin part is beautiful.

Grade: 5/10

6️⃣ Titi: I was expecting Luxembourg to send something better compared to what they’ve sent in recent years, but that didn’t happen. I think this year we might see Luxembourg’s first non-qualification. Eva has a nice, pleasant voice, but the song doesn’t really do her any favors. It feels a bit cringe and lacking meaning, and it seems more suited for a junior competition.

Grade: 6/10

7️⃣ Nella: I can understand the hate this song brought after winning their national final, but I also strongly believe that it’s unnecessary! I think the song is really sweet and another one of my guilty pleasures…and you can even see on her face when she’s performing with so much soul and warmth. I love their entry this year, and I hope the hate will eventually go away.

Grade: 9/10

8️⃣ Mircea: Luxembourg used to be a power house back in the days, before retiring for 30 years and came back 2 years ago. This song is cute and a bit catchy, but very weak compared to the other songs in the contest. Everything about the staging must be changed, because I find many similarities to previous Eurovision performances, you can see some elements I will not describe them. I really hope the song will be revamped, otherwise we`ll see Luxembourg`s first non-qualification ever.

Grade: 6/10
