EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is France, represented by Monroe with her song “Regarde!” 🇫🇷

1️⃣ Raul: Wow, a good song and a stunning artist!! My issue comes after that live performance, where it feels like the French delegation is getting a bit tired with this kind of staging… it’s time for a major refresh. It’s a shame, because the voice and the song are really strong… I do think they’ll be on the left side of the scoreboard in the final, but probably not that high.

Grade: 8/10

2️⃣ Reza: France has been trying very hard to win Eurovision over the last few years, and I really appreciate that commitment. They were actually my winners in both 2024 and 2025. This time, though, I am just not really connecting with the song. I should mention that I am not an opera fan, so I already had a feeling this would not fully be my cup of tea, but even so, I do not find it that impressive, and it simply did not leave a strong impression on me. The main asset here is clearly her vocals, which are absolutely out of this world, especially for a 17-year-old. However, the song itself lacks substance and identity. In a strange way, it feels quite empty, even though a lot is happening. It feels like something is missing, even if I cannot say exactly what. France is definitely in the race to win Eurovision, and I think the staging and overall performance will be crucial. That said, I do not see the televote going crazy for this entry, as it usually does not for opera songs or songs with strong operatic elements. Estonia 2018, Switzerland 2024, and Austria 2025 are all good examples. Even though all of them were fan favourites, and two of them even won the contest, they won because the juries carried them to victory rather than the televote. So if France does not absolutely dominate the jury vote, I am quite sure they will not win the whole thing, especially with competitors like Finland, Denmark, and Greece being far more accessible to the public.

Grade: 6/10

3️⃣ Florin: Another song I feel I should like more than I actually do, but I don’t. Monroe has an amazing voice, the song is good, not as amazing as people say, I don’t really get the hype around it. For me this is just another usual French song with great vocals which the jury will ultra boost on the scorebard.

Grade: 6/10

4️⃣ Stefania: A pleasant song performed by an artist who has consistently demonstrated strong vocal abilities over time. However, the instrumental doesn’t quite feel fully convincing and seems to lack a certain spark. For now, I’d rate it a 7, though that may change as the competition progresses, it currently feels a bit empty.

Grade: 7/10

5️⃣ Laur: France is sending a song that feels empty. Normally, I would love this kind of dramatic entry, but not this time. It’s just not working for me. The only strong point is her flawless voice. It feels like they aimed directly at the juries. I don’t think the televote will connect with it. I only remember the voice, nothing else.

Grade: 6/10

6️⃣ Titi: France doesn’t disappoint us this year either. For many years now, France has been trying to win the contest, and that can clearly be seen in the quality of the songs they send year after year. It’s definitely the best pre-qualified entry, but is it enough to win? Honestly, I don’t really think so. Monroe’s voice is exceptional, and the fact that he is only 17 years old amazes me. However, I don’t think the song has that catchy or memorable factor that is essential at Eurovision. Still, “Rgarde” is a good song supported by a powerful voice, so France will most likely end up in the top 10 once again.

Grade: 9/10

7️⃣ Nella: Opera is one of my guilty pleasures ever. This time, Monroe captivates us with her vocal capabilities and even hits up some notes that I never heard in a while! However, the entry lacks something. We had opera winning twice in a row, and I don’t think I see it winning again for the 3rd, but they will score well, at least the juries will be satisfied with this entry.

Grade: 7/10

8️⃣ Mircea: Another great song for France, I admire their effort to win this contest and it`s visible. The song cannot be loved by everybody of course, but I like it, although it can be considered generic or repetitive. It`s more like an act rather a song and I can see an epic moment based on this in Vienna. Possibly a jury winner contender, but we have many great songs along this.

Grade: 9/10
