EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Cyprus, represented by Antigoni with her song “JALLA“! 🇨🇾

1️⃣ Raul: Cyprus really came through this year — one of the more listenable songs, I didn’t expect to say that :)) The vocals might drag it down, but the song itself is very good, and I’m convinced the show will match it!! I’m expecting some pyro on stage — I really hope they go for it. It’ll probably qualify just on the edge because of the vocals, but I hope I’m wrong.

Grade: 9/10

2️⃣ Reza: We all want “JALLA,” especially when it is delivered by someone as charismatic and lovely as Antigoni. The song itself is exactly what I want Mediterranean countries to bring to Eurovision: an excellent ethnic bop. I love how strongly you can feel the Cypriot touch and authenticity in it, something that has been missing from Cyprus’ last few Eurovision entries. It is catchy, joyful, energetic, and the kind of song that instantly puts a smile on your face. You simply cannot help but enjoy it and move your hips. I love Antigoni, and I think she is one of the most charismatic contestants this year. Even though some people are still doubtful about its chances, I am confident that all of Europe will fall in love with her radiant energy. For me, this is one of my favourite entries of the year.

Grade: 10/10

3️⃣ Florin: Kori mou, kori mouuuu! Jalla is one of those songs that have the potential to become huge after Eurovision. It’s the perfect summer bop we need from Cyprus, and I’m really glad they embraced their traditional sound (don’t come for me, I know the drama) and I think it really works this year. Will they win? I don’t think so, but I’m sure Europe, and especially the Balkans will devour it.

Grade: 10/10

4️⃣ Stefania: Absolute banger!! I LOVE the vibe and the rhythm – I keep singing it around the house like crazy. I’ve been playing it so much my neighbors probably know the lyrics by now 💃 CYPRUSSS LET’S GOOO

Grade: 10/10

5️⃣ Laur: I don’t know what to say about Cyprus anymore. Every year we think it’s a top 10 entry, and then it barely qualifies or doesn’t qualify at all. I don’t have high expectations. Still, it’s one of the best-produced songs this year. I want strong choreography, something energetic. It gives me summer, beach, party vibes. I just hope the vocals are solid.

Grade: 9/10

6️⃣ Titi: Finally, Cyprus is sending a song with traditional elements again! I’m so happy that this year we have entries that truly represent the culture of the countries they come from, and Antigoni nails it perfectly. “JALLA” is an extremely catchy song, with an instrumental that makes you instantly get up from your seat and dance. The song is very well produced, and I’m sure it will turn the Eurovision arena into a full-on party. Although I’m confident it will qualify, I can’t say for sure if it will make the top, but I really hope it ends up as high as possible in the rankings.

Grade: 10/10

7️⃣ Nella: I never got hooked so fast on a song as I did with Jalla. From the instrumental, the dance, and music video. I think Cyprus is tired of sending good entries and, in the end, flopping. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this time won’t happen! I love this entry, I have it on repeat since it got released, and hopefully Antigoni will pull out the best performance we will have in May.

Grade: 10/10

8️⃣ Mircea: This is excellent. Cyprus remembered how to send a great ethnic bop like they used to do before. I love Antigoni’s energy and charisma, brings the song alive and feels authentic. My only concerning about this is her vocal abillities, because I didn’t loved her live performances, but I hope she can change my opinion on this very soon. One of my favorite tracks for sure.
