Raul: What a downgrade… from Baby Lasagna to this. I guess Croatia wants to stay in the semi. It’s not a good song, it’s not a bad one — it’s just a song. I can see this qualifying with good staging, but it’ll still be hard to make it to the final.
Grade: 4/10

Reza: I’ve been hoping for Marko Bošnjak to represent Croatia for a while now, and I absolutely loved his Dora 2022 entry, Moli za nas. But unfortunately, this one just doesn’t do it for me, which is a shame because I really admire him as an artist. There are some parts I enjoy, but overall, I’m not a huge fan of the full package. That said, I think this could be elevated live since it has that same duality that Bambie had last year, and they could definitely build on that.
Grade: 6/10

Stefania: Marko Bošnjak is an incredible vocalist, and I was genuinely curious to see what direction he’d take for Croatia. ‘Poison Cake’ definitely stands out with its duality and theatrical concept, but for me, it doesn’t fully land. There’s a certain drama in the instrumental and lyrics that hints at something deeper, but the overall execution feels stuck somewhere between a ballad and a musical number. It’s not bad, just… hard to connect with emotionally. The contrast with last year’s explosive entry is stark, this feels like Croatia hit the brakes instead of the gas.
Grade: 6/10

Florin: I don’t care about the hate, he EATS, hopefully not his own cake. Love the song, the two “sides” really blend so nice, and it’s also so, so, so catchy. The NF performance was a littttleeee weak, but he was very sick and I’m sure it will be much better in Basel. The concept is there, we just need better execution, which we will see for sure in May.
Grade: 8/10

Laur: Croatia’s song this year is really good, I like it a lot. It’s nonconformist and stood out to me ever since all the songs were released. It’s something different, a completely different genre, and even though I didn’t expect it to win, it was a shock for me. And yet, here we are… Marko is representing Croatia this year. I really hope it qualifies.
Grade: 9/10

Antonio: I did not moved. Sorry Croatia, but the drastic change from Baby Lasagna to this does not sit right with me. I can see what the artist tried to do with the lyrics but…no.
Grade: 4/10

Overall grade: 6.16/10
