EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Austria, represented by COSMÓ with his song “Tanzschein“! 🇦🇹

1️⃣ Raul: I didn’t like the song from the start, it’s just… bad. And the fact that it’s performing in position 25. WTF?! Seriously?! Anyway, the whole moment is meh, the song is meh, I honestly don’t get what it’s doing in the final, probably heading for 0 points. Such a huge downgrade, it’s kind of shocking… but hey, it’s Austria.

Grade: 4/10

2️⃣ Reza: This is so overhated by the fandom. Sure, it’s not the most “typical” Eurovision song we’re used to, and it has a more local feel, the kind of entry that people from your own country or region will probably connect with the most. But it’s fresh, fun, authentic, and it totally works for me. I really like Cosmo’s voice, energy, and attitude. He looks like he’s enjoying every single second on stage, and that energy comes across so well through the screen. I’m pretty sure this won’t do amazingly well at Eurovision, but I can absolutely see it becoming a radio hit in Austria.

Grade: 8/10

3️⃣ Florin: This is not my cup of tea. I tried to like it, but it’s just not my type of song. The production is good, and the voice is also good, but that’s all I can say about it.

Grade: 4/10

4️⃣ Stefania: This song is actually kinda catchy not gonna lie but the staging is just not it for me. It feels like squid game and i can’t unsee it 💀 but hey i’m still happy he got the chance to go through it’s cute it’s listenable nothing groundbreaking.

Grade: 6/10

5️⃣ Laur: Another guilty pleasure. I know it has no real chances. It might continue the host country trend of finishing low. I’m glad he gets the Eurovision experience, but both he and the song deserved more.

Grade: 4/10

6️⃣ Titi: What can I say about Austria… I didn’t connect with the song at all. In my opinion, it’s a weak entry, not competitive at all, and I see it more as a “joke entry.” I don’t like the song or its style at all. That said, I do appreciate that the singer is only 19 and is taking part in such a big competition, but that doesn’t make me give a higher score.

Grade: 3/10

7️⃣ Nella: The song’s chorus is catchy, but again, I just cannot wrap my head around this entry. It looks fun and glittery as well, but compared to their win last year, Austria is pulling a 2014-2015 situation, which is funny because of the 10-year gap

Grade: 4/10

8️⃣ Mircea: Even though it wasn’t a strong National Final for the host country, this song was a good choice made by the public. Probably not my cup of tea, but I find this song very entertaining and fun. The issue for me is that this song is not memorable enough and it is not very appealing for both juries and televoters. I have mixed feelings about this one.

Grade: 6/10
