EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Australia, represented by Delta Goodrem with her song “Eclipse“! 🇦🇺

1️⃣ Raul: Now this is a song, finally something good this season! It’s an incredibly perfect fit for Delta. The production is amazing, the song itself is fantastic, and the potential is huge!! I’ve heard an acapella version and it’s absolutely incredible, the vocals are there, we’ve got the full package! I’m really curious to see how it will look on stage, but it definitely has an easy Top 10 potential for Delta.

Grade: 10/10

2️⃣ Reza: We finally have Delta Goodrem at Eurovision! Is this the best she could come up with? Probably not, but it is still a very respectable entry. It’s very much a classic, typical ballad, which I don’t mind, but I think expectations were very high when she was announced as Australia’s representative. To be honest, when I first listened to the song, it didn’t really leave an impression on me, I was just like, “meh.” But it’s a grower, and now I really enjoy it. Delta can definitely sing, so I’m pretty sure the juries will totally fall for it. As for the televote, that is always tricky when it comes to Australia. All in all, it’s a solid entry and it will for sure qualify for the final.

Grade: 8/10

3️⃣ Florin: This is one of my favorite songs this year. It’s the perfect power ballad we need in Eurovision. It just hits the right spot in my brain with all the usual power ballad elements, but also a fresh and modern feeling. Also Delta’s voice is just amazing and I think Australia is one of the countries that could win this year’s unpredictable edition.

Grade: 10/10

4️⃣ Stefania: At first, the song felt like a very typical Eurovision entry, somewhat generic and easy to overlook. However, it has grown on me more than I expected, and I’ve caught myself humming it around the house.

Grade: 9/10

5️⃣ Laur: I admit it didn’t impress me at first. It’s a very basic Eurovision song, nothing special, but this kind of entry often does well in the final. The juries will probably love it, we already know that. I even think that it can be unexpected flop, but I could be wrong. Yes, the vocals are strong. Yes, it’s a big voice. But Eurovision is not just about that. We need from her a real strong staging.

Grade: 8/10

6️⃣ Titi: Ohhh Australia… what a song! Delta is an artist with an exceptional voice, and the song is exactly what’s needed. It’s a solid entry, crafted specifically for Eurovision. “Eclipse” is the kind of song that can score points both with the jury and the televote. What keeps it from being just a “classic pop song” is the artist’s voice, which elevates the track significantly. The touch of piano also makes it more unique and prevents it from getting lost among the other entries. I’ll honestly give it a 10, hoping to see Australia as high as possible in the rankings.

Grade: 10/10

7️⃣ Nella: Look, I have been trying to be as unbiased as possible, but I have been listening to Delta’s music since 2019. I even remember the time I had a little “lyrics notebook” when I was like 16-17, and I was writing some of her songs down; I was obsessed. The song is absolutely gorgeous, and I am so glad that it shows what of a vocal powerhouse Delta is. I know it sounds a bit too 2015, but I am living! This deserves a good top 5 in Vienna.

Grade: 10/10

8️⃣ Mircea: Australia is so back in the finals with this masterpiece of a song. Delta is finally joining the Eurovision family and her ballad is so beautiful, I love it. It might be considered too simple or too classic, but it`s Eurovision-coded and I never felt this feeling in a while. Juries will devoure this, I hope the televote points will not be small, because it would be a pity.

Grade: 10/10
