Estonian broadcaster ERR has announced today that Eesti Laul 2025 has officially opened its call for song submissions. The deadline for entries is set for October 21st at 12:00 PM.

The deadline for submitting songs to Eesti Laul 2025 is noon on October 21st. The participation fee is €50 for Estonian-language songs and €100 for songs in foreign or multiple languages if submitted by October 18th. For entries submitted between October 19th and 21st, the fee doubles to €100 and €200, respectively.

The competition is open to songwriters and songwriting teams who are citizens of Estonia, foreign residents under Estonian tax law, or non-residents. According to the new regulations, at least one of the song’s creators must be an Estonian citizen or resident. Performers, meanwhile, can be citizens, residents, or non-residents of Estonia. Both songwriters and performers are allowed to submit up to five songs each.

The 15 finalists will be chosen by a jury, with the selected songs announced in November. The public will get their first chance to hear the songs in December. A 16th song, chosen via public voting after a preliminary round, will also join the finalists.

The winner of Eesti Laul 2025 will be determined on February 15th during the superfinal, where the top three songs will be selected based on both jury and audience votes. The ultimate winner will be chosen by a public phone vote.

For more information on the rules, schedule, and how to submit a song, visit the official Eesti Laul website at www.eestilaul.ee.

Eesti Laul 2024 was won by 5miinust and Puuluup with the song “(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi” and represented Estonia in Eurovision Song Contest 2024 placing 20th with 37 points.
