BNT Launches New National Selection Format for Eurovision 2026!

The Bulgarian National Television (BNT), as a participating member of the European Broadcasting Union, has officially confirmed the launch of a new national selection process designed to determine Bulgaria’s representative for the international phase of Eurovision 2026.

According to the broadcaster, fifteen Bulgarian performers have been invited to take part in this selection. The invited artists reflect the current landscape of the country’s music scene, having secured strong visibility across major radio and television channels throughout the year. Their inclusion is also based on high placements on PROFON’s “BG Top 40” chart, as well as notable engagement across streaming platforms and key digital indicators. BNT states that the aim is to present a lineup that blends artists with proven mainstream presence and those demonstrating strong creative momentum in online spaces.

Participants who accept the invitation will compete in a televised music program produced and broadcast live by BNT. The show will unfold in three stages during January and February 2026. At the conclusion of the process, Bulgaria’s Eurovision act will be selected through a combination of votes from a professional jury and the viewing public.

Bulgaria last took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022, when the country was represented by Intelligent Music Project with the song “Intention.” The contest was held in May in Turin, where Bulgaria finished 16th in the first semi-final, failing to qualify for the grand final.
