Austria is set to pick its artist for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 through a national selection show called Vienna Calling – Wer singt für Österreich?. The selection will take place on 20 February 2026 in Vienna. Twelve acts have been announced to compete for the chance to represent Austria at the contest held in their home country. Viewers and a professional jury will vote to decide the winner.

This decision marks the first time since 2016 that Austria will use a public national final to choose its entry. Over 400 songs were submitted to the broadcaster ORF, showing strong interest from artists across the country.

Austria will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna because the nation won the contest in 2025. The victory came with the song “Wasted Love” by Austrian singer JJ. The song scored 436 points in the final, securing first place for Austria at Eurovision 2025 held in Basel, Switzerland.

JJ’s win in 2025 means Austria will host Eurovision on home soil, giving local artists a big opportunity to compete in front of international audiences next year.
