7 artists who could REALISTICALLY represent Canada 🇨🇦 at Eurovision 2027!

The Eurovision world was taken by storm when the EBU announced that Canada will join the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time ever! Since then, there has been plenty of speculation about who could represent the country in Burgas.

Yesterday, broadcaster CBC/Radio-Canada revealed how Canada’s first Eurovision entry will be selected. For its debut year, Canada will first choose the performer and then the song. A similar approach was used by Bulgaria last year, when DARA was selected as the artist before competing with three songs in a national final, which was ultimately won by Bangaranga. CBC/Radio-Canada explained that the selected artist will then work together with top music industry talent to create Canada’s first-ever Eurovision song and performance.

So, who could we see flying the Canadian flag in Burgas? Below are seven artists who have already shown interest in Eurovision and who we think could be a great fit for Canada’s debut selection.

bbno$

bbno$ is probably the biggest name that has shown interest in representing Canada so far. The Vancouver rapper is best known for hits like Lalala and edamame, and recently even said on stage that he plans to apply. With his chaotic style and links to Eurovision names like Joost, Tommy Cash and Baby Lasagna, he could definitely be a fun and strong choice for Canada.

Rêve

Montreal-born Rêve is already a pretty established name in Canadian pop, especially after the success of CTRL + ALT + DEL, which won her a JUNO Award. She has said that representing Canada at Eurovision would be a dream and even mentioned that she already has a couple of songs that could work for the contest. Other great songs that could totally work at Eurovision and are definitely worth a listen are: Contemporary Love, Detour and Still Dancing.

Tyler Shaw

Tyler Shaw has been part of the Canadian pop scene for more than a decade, with hits like With You and Love You Still. He has confirmed that he wants to apply and said he could imagine bringing a mix of pop, acoustic and dance sounds to Eurovision. He also mentioned that he might include some Polish in the song, as he has Polish roots.

Nicolina

Nicolina Bozzo became known after finishing in the Top 5 of American Idol in 2022 and later competing on Canada’s Got Talent. She is also a Eurovision fan herself and has said that she would love to represent Canada. Nicolina already seems to know exactly what she wants: a big emotional ballad, a strong chorus and dramatic staging. A song like Situations could totally bring Canada an amazing result!

Enola Bedard

Enola Bedard became first popular through her dance videos online and has since moved more into music and live performances. She has openly said that representing Canada at Eurovision would be an “absolute dream” and that she already has unreleased music she could work with. With her background as both a singer and dancer, she could definitely bring a strong performance to the stage. One of her recent work Telepatia shows how strong of a fit Enola is!

Ashley Sienna

Ashley Sienna makes dark and atmospheric pop, with What You Need being one of her biggest songs so far. She has been very open about wanting to represent Canada and has already talked about the type of Eurovision entry she would like to bring. Her idea is something emotional, dark and cinematic, possibly even mixing English and Slovak. Another song that totally deserves a listen and could be an interesting and original fit for Eurovision is ICY ICY

Fox Revett

Fox Revett is probably one of the more alternative names on the list, with a style that mixes theatrical pop, strong vocals and bold visuals. Fox has been following Eurovision for years and has made it clear that representing Canada is a real goal. They have also spoken about wanting to create something specifically for the contest while still making it feel Canadian. Their song A Thousand Days is an emotional and powerful ballad that the Eurovision juries would love!

Other honorable artists that are worth mentioning and showed interests as well are: ANN@LISE, Betta Lemme, Dani Douchette, Grace of Arc, Kayia Gamble, MINOE.

Whoever gets the ticket to Burgas, one thing is certain: Canada’s first Eurovision selection is already looking very promising.
