EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Switzerland represented by Veronica Fusaro with her song “Alice” 🇨🇭

1️⃣ Raul: This is my guilty pleasure. I absolutely love the song and the whole idea behind it. I’m not sure what to expect from the staging, but I really hope it makes the final because it deserves it. It has a very unique style, and her voice is just so calming.

Grade: 8/10

2️⃣ Reza: Switzerland has had a pretty strong run from 2019 until now, managing to leave behind its less successful era when it was failing to qualify year after year. That being said, I am not entirely convinced that “Alice” is on the same level as the country’s last few entries. I find the song rather forgettable and not especially suited to a competition like Eurovision. It is hard for me to imagine it truly standing out, whether with the juries or the televote. After seeing her live performance, I was not particularly impressed by either her stage presence or her vocals. The song’s message is clearly its strongest aspect, and it is undeniably a beautiful and powerful one. Do not get me wrong, this is not a bad song by any means, but I do feel it is missing a few elements that would elevate it into a stronger overall package.

Grade: 6/10

3️⃣ Florin: Maybe one of the most underrated songs this year, in my opinion. The song itself is a mood, it tells a story and it really feels like there is something more behind it. Staging-wise, this needs to be done in a very clever way to emphasize the message of the song. I really hope they do it justice, because I really like this song.

Grade: 9/10

4️⃣ Stefania: There’s no real hook, and the song ultimately feels quite empty in terms of impact. While the music video is visually appealing and well-produced, it doesn’t compensate for the lack of a memorable core. Switzerland brings an interesting concept to the table, and there are elements that show artistic intention, but it doesn’t come across as particularly competitive. In the end, it struggles to leave a lasting impression, nothing truly sticks after the song ends.

Grade: 6/10

5️⃣ Laur: This is something my grandmother would love. I understand they don’t aim for much after winning and hosting recently. The song feels empty. I don’t think it will qualify. If it does, it will be borderline.

Grade: 4/10

6️⃣ Titi: I might have a somewhat unpopular opinion, but I actually really like Switzerland this year. Alice is a song I enjoy, with a strong message that’s presented subtly. Even though I like it, I don’t see it as a very competitive entry, so I’m not sure what to expect in terms of its final placement, but I do hope it ends up as high as possible.

Grade: 9/10

7️⃣ Nella: The song dedicated to the queers is here! Switzerland is a powerhouse since Nemo’s win in 2024, but I gotta say this entry is not giving nothing me. I like Veronica’s style of music and the choose of the song to represent queer culture but other than that the song is not outstanding in any way.

Grade: 5/10

8️⃣ Mircea: People should stop sleeping on this song beuase it`s a good track. I love the guitar used for this song and also how Veronica sounds in the studio version, but I expect to sound live as good as in the studio. It`s not as strong as other Swiss entries in the last years, but I would definitely listen to this more often.

Grade: 8/10
