EUROAlfa Panel is back! This year, 8 of our members will rate and comment on every single entry in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest! Today’s country is Croatia, represented by LELEK with their song “Andromeda“! 🇭🇷

1️⃣ Raul:I don’t really get why Croatia is ranked so high — to me it feels like a pretty mid song that’ll land around 6th–7th in the semifinal. Their vocals are beautiful, no doubt, but the song itself doesn’t do much for me — it’s not bringing anything new to the industry. They’ll clearly make the final, but I’m not too sure about a Top 10 🙂

Grade: 7/10

2️⃣ Reza: I wish I liked this more because it is a great entry, but for some reason I just do not connect with it that much when I watch the live performance. I find myself getting a bit bored halfway through the song, even though I completely appreciate the originality, the concept, the storytelling, and the lyrics. Compared to many other entries, this song actually tells a story, has a message, and feels authentic and original. As mentioned, there is a lot to appreciate and respect here, but sadly it is just not grabbing me enough. Overall, this is a solid entry and a major improvement on last year.

Grade: 7/10

3️⃣ Florin: I loved their entry in Dora last year and it’s the same for this one. I love this kind of songs, all of them are amazing performers and yeah, Croatia is giving us an amazing song for the third year in a row.

Grade: 9/10

4️⃣ Stefania: I actually like it, it’s a nice song and I’m into this kind of style, so I can see it doing well in the final. At the same time, I get why some people find it a bit hard to follow, especially since it doesn’t really have a clear, catchy chorus and the darker vibe makes it less instant.

Grade: 8/10

5️⃣ Laur: The harmonies are good, and they will probably deliver live. But what stays with you after the song? It feels like a tiring ritual performance.

Grade: 4/10

6️⃣ Titi: Okay Croatia, I really like the whole concept you’re bringing. I love it when a group of singers harmonizes their voices together. The song is kinda dark, but that actually makes it stand out. That said, I don’t understand why this song is so overrated. The concept definitely stands out, but I just can’t see it making the top 10.

Grade: 7/10

7️⃣ Nella: “Andromeda” depicts for me a song that represents more than what it is. I love the stage; the song itself has some things that can be changed, but overall, I see the hype around it. The juries will appreciate the harmonies and the group’s vocal capabilities and can achieve a good place in the final.

Grade: 7/10

8️⃣ Mircea: Not my cup of tea, but I appreciate the quality Croatia is sending this year. Their voices work so good together and it’s giving me goosebumps. The song itself is good, not bad, not amazing, but it’s just my personal opinion. Juries might love this. Also it’s very Taumeitas or Vesna and I really appreciate it. Sometimes we need this girl power moments.

Grade: 7/10
