Lithuania’s national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest is set for a significant shake-up in 2026. Public broadcaster LRT has confirmed a number of rule changes for Eurovizija.LT, aiming to modernize the competition and give more weight to the audience’s voice.

🔑 What’s new in 2026

  • No superfinal – the winner will be decided directly in the final show, without an additional head-to-head round.
  • 📞 Televoting breaks all ties – in the case of a tie, the public vote will take precedence over the jury.
  • 📱 App voting introduced – viewers will now be able to cast their votes not only by SMS but also through a dedicated mobile app.
  • 🌐 Online wildcard round for semi-final 3rd-placers – acts finishing third in the semi-finals will face off in an online round, with the winner securing the last spot in the grand final.

📢 With these updates, Eurovizija.LT 2026 is shaping up to be a more dynamic and audience-driven competition, promising plenty of excitement for Lithuanian and international Eurovision fans.

In 2025, Lithuania was represented by Katarsis with the song “Tavo Akys.” They reached the Grand Final in Basel and finished in 16th place with 96 points.
