🇧🇬 Burgas to Host Eurovision Song Contest 2027: Everything We Know So Far

The Eurovision Song Contest is heading to the Bulgarian Black Sea coast! Burgas has officially been selected to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, following Bulgaria’s historic victory at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna with DARA and her winning song “Bangaranga.” This will mark the first time Bulgaria hosts the Eurovision Song Contest.

The 71st edition of Europe’s biggest music competition will bring artists, delegations, Eurovision fans and millions of viewers to Burgas in May 2027.

Burgas 2027: The Dates

Eurovision 2027 will take place across three live shows:

• Semi-Final 1: Tuesday, 11 May 2027
• Semi-Final 2: Thursday, 13 May 2027
• Grand Final: Saturday, 15 May 2027

All three shows are scheduled to begin at 21:00 CEST.

The Grand Final on 15 May will crown the successor to DARA and determine who takes the Eurovision trophy home from Bulgaria.

Arena Burgas

The contest will be staged at Arena Burgas, one of Bulgaria’s newest indoor sports and entertainment venues.

Opened in 2023, the arena can accommodate up to 15,000 spectators for concerts, making it suitable for the huge production required by Eurovision. The venue is located close to Burgas’ city centre and offers modern infrastructure for concerts, sporting events and large-scale productions.

Hosting Eurovision on the Black Sea coast will also give fans the opportunity to experience Burgas beyond the arena, with its beaches, waterfront Sea Garden, restaurants and vibrant cultural scene.

Countries Expected to Take Part

As of 13 August 2026, 18 countries have expressed their interest in participating in Eurovision 2027:

The list is not yet final. Broadcasters have until mid-October 2026 to formally submit their applications to participate, meaning more countries could join while others could potentially withdraw.

One of the biggest highlights will be Canada’s Eurovision debut, following the country’s entry into the European Broadcasting Union’s Eurovision family.

Eurovision Comes to the Black Sea

Burgas represents a different kind of Eurovision host city. Rather than bringing the contest to a European capital, Eurovision 2027 will take place in a major seaside destination known for its beaches, parks and summer atmosphere.

The city is already preparing to welcome thousands of international visitors, with Eurovision-related events expected throughout the contest week, including the Eurovision Village and EuroClub. More details about the wider programme are expected to be announced in the coming months.

After Bulgaria’s first-ever Eurovision victory in 2026, the country now has the chance to showcase its music, culture and Black Sea coast to a global audience.
