Earlier today it was revealed that the public broadcaster os Iceland, RÚV, confirmed that the nation will participate in the next edition of Eurovision, bringing the total number of participant to date to 29.

More information regarding the selection of the song and artist should be awaited soon, but we expect to see the return of the National Selection, Söngvakeppnin, as it been used to select the Icelandic entry every year since 2006, and prior to that between 1986 to 2003.

The nordic country of Iceland consistently shows high enthusiasm in Eurovision, as seen with impressive viewing figures and memorable entries like Grétar Örvarsson, Selma, Yohanna, Hatari, and Daði og Gagnamagnið. Recent years have brought challenges, including non-qualification streaks and disappointing results, yet Iceland’s dedication to the contest remains strong.
